ALUCA’s Life Membership Award is the highest honour the Association bestows. The Award recognises exceptional individuals who have contributed extensively to ALUCA, achieving outstanding feats over their lifetime that have led to the advancement of Life Insurance professionals and the industry’s longevity. 

These prestigious accolades are only awarded when a deserving candidate or candidates can demonstrate they meet ALUCA’s key criteria for life membership. Nominations are sought biennially, and:

  • Nominations must be made by two or more financial ALUCA members
  • Nominations must be made via the Life Membership Nomination Form and must address the 3 Key Life Membership Criteria
  • Nominees must be current financial members of ALUCA
  • Nominees must be CPLI accredited members of ALUCA

PROCEDURE

The ALUCA Board will call for Life Membership nominations on a bi-annual basis. This call will be made prior to ALUCA’s biennial conference, so that a thorough appraisal of the nomination(s) can be conducted. Nominations for 2025 should be received by the ALUCA Secretariat no later than 5.00 pm (AEDT) Thursday, 27th March 2025.  

Nominations must be made by two or more financial ALUCA Members. Nominations must be made via the Life Membership Nomination form at the end of this document, accompanied by a brief statement (up to two A4 pages) on the attributes and activities of the nominee that addresses the 3 Key Life Membership Criteria. 

The completed Life Membership Nomination Form, together with supporting document, must be submitted to the ALUCA Secretariat Officer by the closing date. The ALUCA Board will consider nominations on an individual basis, and where appropriate, approve the award of Life Membership. Should a vote be necessary to determine whether Life Membership is granted, a two thirds majority of Board members will be required. 

ALUCA LIFE MEMBERSHIP NOMINATION FORM

Nominations for the ALUCA Life Membership Award must be made by two or more financial ALUCA Members. This form should be accompanied by a statement addressing the following Life Membership Key Criteria (maximum 500 words per section). 

  • Extensive and Sustained Contribution: Please demonstrate how the nominee has rendered extensive and sustained service over their lifetime to the Association and its objectives. 
  • Outstanding and Highly Recognised Achievements: Please demonstrate how the nominee has achieved highly recognised contribution(s) and a significant, positive impact to the life insurance industry specific to underwriting, claims, rehabilitation or group super over their lifetime. 
  • Advancement of Life Insurance professionals, the industry and ALUCA: Please demonstrate how the nominee has enhanced the standing of ALUCA, Life Insurance professionals and the industry’s longevity. 
  • Life Member Nomination submissions: Email to secretariatofficer@aluca.com enclosing the signed, scanned nomination form and brief statement in PDF format. Nominations must be sent to the ALUCA Secretariat by 5.00 pm (AEDT) Thursday, 27th March 2025
